Course Content: 

Module 1 First Aid: This course will bring learners through the steps of Basic First Aid in practical, hands-on scenarios:

  • Scene Safety
  • Patient Assessment
  • Activation of Emergency Services
  • CPR
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Choking
  • Seizure Management
  • Asthma, Diabetes, Anaphylaxis
  • Recovery Position Bleeding Control and Treatment Burns Management and Treatment Fracture management and Treatment Head injuries Spinal Injury Incident / Accident Documentation

Module 2 Manual Handling: This course will provide the learners with information about how important it is to look after your back and the necessary skills to assess loads before they attempt to lift, move, carry, push or pull them. All learners will have to complete a theory and practical assessment at the end of the course. A Certificate will be issued for 2 years once the learner has met the certification criteria. The course syllabus is based on the 2007 General Application Regulations, Chapter 4 of Part 2: Manual Handling of Loads.
